Traveling with Bosco

I have had to travel back to Europe and decided to take Bosco with me. Being the youngest and the odd one out, it made more sense to take him than the two sisters, who can play together and amuse themselve.s
This required some paperwork which was quite manageable thanks to the help of friends and a friendly vet.
Bosco remained gentle but deeply resented having his space curtailed in the carrier bag and his freedom of movement impinged through the harness. This translated into yowls and angry screeches of protest throughout the ten-hour car ride from Chiang Mai to Bangkok (no animals on domestic flights in Thailand). With the help of a tranquilizer the plane trip was somewhat quieter until the last two hours.
Arriving in my flat in Carouge opened a whole new world for him. No other cats have been there, and it was his territory to discover and conquer. Everything has become an object to discover, explore and investigate. His curiosity has few boundaries, and there are no other cats to hiss at him or to tell him off.
The bed has been quickly identified and become his favourite place to wait for me when I go out. It is high enough for him to hide underneath when he is not sure of who is coming in or if he doesn't want to see strangers.

The cat basket traveled with us from Thailand - it is home away from home......
Life lesson: despite the adversity and the indignity of travel, home is where you make your bed.
