Tootsie and Thalia came into my life last year. They were barely 7 weeks old at the time. They compensated their tiny size with big meows, bat ears and an attitude.

Having been taken away from their mother prematurely, they adopted me as their new Cat Mom within 24 hours. This meant following me around when awake, suckling me wherever they could reach and pumping me enthusiastically with their razor sharp claws.

To this day, I have been unable to wean them completely off the habit. As a wake-up call, Tootsie and Thalia often sneak up to me early in the morning to suckle my arm and pump it.

Life lesson: when things are bigger than you, you can still own them . All you need is presence and persistence.
